The Feeder concept has a long history in Offshore Wind. The closest the Feeder Solution came into reality was in 2021. This was undertaken by Bard Offshore with the use of Flat Deck Barges. This was without full success due to many unforseen issues.
Many of the issues were removed during MBM Consultancy feasibility study. This allowed MBM ShipDesign to work on a solution for the Offshore Feeder.
With the introduction of Hybrid fuels, and Automation, a realistic and cost effective solution is now available.
This project is ongoing and new partners are joining on a weekly.
